Lt Col Adrian Cuarta is the Wing Director of Professional Development. His job is to manage and direct all functions related to the implementation of the CAP Professional Development Program in subordinate units. Additionally, his role is to create a positive unit training environment, where CAP’s adult members can develop their required skills in a comfortable and professional atmosphere.
Lt Col Cuarta joined CAP in 2007 and has been active in many specialties in the areas of Emergency Services and Professional Development. In Emergency Services, he has qualified and performed missions as Mission Pilot, Mission Observer, Mission Scanner, Aerial Photographer, Mission Radio Operator, Air Operations Branch Director, Planning Section Chief, Operation Section Chief, and Mission Staff Assistant.
In the area of Professional Development, he has completed all five levels of the Senior Member Professional Development Program, and is a graduate of the National Inspector General College. He has attained Master, Senior and Technician ratings in a variety of specialty tracks to include Administration, Command, Emergency Services, Inspector General, Personnel and Professional Development.
Lt Col Cuarta has served in a variety of positions throughout his CAP career, including Squadron Commander, Deputy Commander, Professional Development Officer, Emergency Services Officer, Emergency Services Training Officer, Administrative Officer, Personnel Officer, and National Staff College Staff. He also serves as a Florida Wing Assistant Inspector General, and has performed dozens of Subordinate Unit Inspections around the Wing.
His CAP awards include South East Region Senior Member of the Year, Florida Wing Senior member of the Year, National Commander’s Commendation Award, Florida Wing Commander’s Commendation Award (multiple), National Commander’s Unit Citation Award, Unit Citation Award, Disaster Relief (w/V), SAR (air), Find (air), Recruiter, and Yeager.
He is a graduate of the University Of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Industrial Relations. He spent most of his professional career as an Administrator at the University of South Florida, where he was responsible for training and professional development of a large, complex, and diverse workforce.
Lt Col Cuarta served aboard ship in the Pacific Fleet in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War
