Col Richard Greenwood

Colonel Richard J. Greenwood is the Vice Commander, Southeast Region, Civil Air Patrol. As Vice Commander, he serves as a member of the Region Command Staff assisting the Region Commander with the execution of the Region missions. His main duties include advising the commander, and exercising oversight of the Florida, Puerto Rico, and Tennessee Wings. Additionally, Colonel Greenwood is the Chair of the National Uniform Committee.
 
Colonel Greenwood is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Colonel Greenwood is also a graduate of Squadron Officer School, and National Staff College.  He has served in Florida Wing, New Mexico Wing, and Georgia Wing with duty assignments as a staff officer in emergency services, aerospace education, logistics, and inspector general.  His duties in these wings also included command level assignments at the squadron, group, and wing level.
 
His staff tours include duty as Operations Officer and Aerospace Education Officer for Group Four Georgia Wing as well as Inspector General, Vice Commander, and Commander of Georgia Wing.  He has also served on the Southeast Region Staff as the Search and Rescue Officer, Assistant Director of Communications, Assistant Inspector General and Inspector General.  He serves as a member of the Civil Air Patrol Command Council, advising the National Commander on operational matters affecting the members under his command.
